What We Handle

Our ILR & Settlement Services

We advise on ILR applications across all routes, as well as naturalisation and British citizenship applications.

ILR — Skilled Worker Route

We advise Skilled Worker visa holders approaching the end of their five-year qualifying period and manage the ILR application on their behalf, including absence calculations and supporting documentation.

ILR — Partner & Spouse Route

We assist those who have completed five years on the partner visa route and are ready to apply for settlement. We manage the full application including the relationship evidence and supporting documents.

ILR — Long Residence

We advise applicants who have been continuously and lawfully resident in the UK for ten years and are applying for ILR on the Long Residence route. We assess the qualifying period and prepare the application.

ILR — Other Routes

We advise on ILR applications across all qualifying routes — including Global Talent, Innovator Founder, and other work and family routes. Contact us to discuss your specific route and eligibility.

Naturalisation & British Citizenship

Once ILR is granted, most applicants become eligible to apply for British citizenship after 12 months. We advise on eligibility and manage the naturalisation application on your behalf.

ILR Refusals & Reviews

Where an ILR application has been refused, we advise on the options available — including administrative review — and assist with reapplications where appropriate.

Preparing Your Application

What a Well-Prepared ILR Application Involves

An ILR application requires thorough preparation. The Home Office assesses a number of areas and a complete, well-evidenced application gives you the best possible chance of a successful outcome. Our team advises on all aspects of the application and prepares a thorough submission on your behalf.

We work with clients from the earliest stages — reviewing eligibility, calculating absences, gathering documents, and preparing the application — through to receiving the decision and advising on next steps.

Speak to Our Team

Absence Record

Time spent outside the UK during the qualifying period must be carefully calculated. We review your travel history, identify any potential issues, and prepare a comprehensive absence schedule as part of the application.

Supporting Documents

ILR applications require a substantial bundle of supporting documents — employment records, payslips, bank statements, and evidence of English language ability. We advise on exactly what is needed and review everything before submission.

Life in the UK Test

Most ILR applicants are required to pass the Life in the UK test before applying. We advise on the requirement, any applicable exemptions, and how to include the pass certificate in your application.

Application Timing

ILR applications can be submitted up to 28 days before the qualifying period is complete. We advise on the correct timing for your application and the importance of submitting before your current visa expires.

Common Questions

ILR & Settlement FAQs

Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) is the immigration status that allows you to live and work in the UK permanently, without any time restriction on your visa. Once granted, ILR removes the need for further visa applications and is the step before British citizenship for most applicants.
Standard ILR applications can take up to six months to be decided. A priority service is available for a decision within five working days, and a super priority service aims to deliver a decision by the next working day. Our team advises on which service is most appropriate for your circumstances.
No. Travelling outside the UK while an ILR application is pending will result in the application being withdrawn. You must remain in the UK until a decision is made. If travel is unavoidable due to an emergency, contact us for advice before departing.
On most routes, you can apply up to 28 days before your qualifying period is complete. For example, on the Skilled Worker route the qualifying period is five years. Applying at the earliest opportunity means your application is submitted and in the queue sooner. We advise on the correct timing for your specific route.
Once ILR is granted, your status is recorded digitally in the Home Office database. You can access and share evidence of your status using a share code through your UKVI account. Most ILR holders become eligible to apply for British citizenship after 12 months, though the period may be shorter in some circumstances.
